The first and second rounds of our 2026 Spelling Bee are complete. Learners from lower, middle and high school took to the microphone, working through increasingly challenging words in front of classmates, teachers and judges.

This year we introduced something new in the high school: a French spelling bee for our Grade 8 and 9 students. Spelling aloud in another language takes careful listening and real courage, and our students met the challenge with focus and composure.

There were no speeches this time, as our Grade 10 to 12 students are sitting their final Cambridge examinations. We wish them every success.

The final round will take place in the coming weeks, so keep practising, spellers! Congratulations to everyone who has taken part so far, and thank you to the teachers and judges who made these rounds possible. Photos from all three competitions are on our Events page.
